What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's an opportunity for local communities to come together to support their community. This maybe through acts of kindness, acts of service, or acts of generosity. Many individual donations collaboratively make a big impact!
Why should I give to Hope Center for Children?
Hope Center for Children has two residential programs that serve youth in foster care and one that serves youth that are aging out of foster care or have no safe place to live. All of these programs provide safe shelter and teach youth life skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. This year for Giving Tuesday, we are seeking to fill a need in each program that contributes to their safety and learning.
-
Faucette House: This program needs a new washing machine and dryer, totaling $4,000. These appliances are essential as they enable our youth to learn important life skills, such as doing their laundry.
- Transitional Living: Our program for
homeless youth requires a new stove and oven, amounting to $5,000. Cooking is
an essential skill that we teach our youth as they transition to independent
living, and having a functioning kitchen is vital to this process.
- Anchor House: This program urgently needs a new security system to ensure the safety of all the youth in our care. The cost for this essential system is $10,000.
Remember, your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a huge impact when combined with others' donations for this day!
Can I make a donation before December 3?
Absolutely! You don't have to wait until Giving Tuesday to help the children and families we serve. You can donate now!
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! When you donate, you'll receive an e-mail confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
