Every child deserves to celebrate on their birthday.
Do you have fond memories of a particular birthday party or birthday traditions growing up? Many children in foster care don’t. Some of our youths were never celebrated by their families, and some of them sorely miss their families on such an important day.
At Hope Center for Children, we believe that every child that comes into our care is special and deserves to have a birthday celebration suited to their tastes. As the youth in our residential programs are typically teenagers, this means their preferences can have a wide range. Maybe it’s a quiet celebration with their HCFC family, a party at Big Air or the skating rink, or dinner at a favorite restaurant. And of course, their favorite cake and some gifts.
This year for Giving Tuesday, YOU can make these birthday celebrations possible! Every dollar given for Giving Tuesday will go into a birthday fund set aside specifically to celebrate our youths’ birthdays in the coming year. Remember, your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a huge impact when combined with others’ donation for this day!
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's an opportunity for local communities to come together to support their community. This may be through acts of kindness, acts of service, or acts of generosity. Many individual donations collaboratively make a big impact!
